In the season opener at Allen County, the Monarchs’ bats were slow to wake up in the cool weather, losing the opener 11-3. Hillary Protzman and Samantha Minnick led the way in hitting, each going 2-3, with an RBI. Liz Roccaro started went four innings, giving up four earned runs, and striking out three batters. She was relieved by Felicia Gwinn who also surrendered four earned runs, in ⅓ of an inning.
 
In the second game, the Monarchs jumped out to a 7-3 lead and held off a late charge by Allen County to win 9-8. Bats were led by Micheia Gutierrez who went 2-4 with three RBI’s. Tara Prindle started, went five innings and gave up two earned runs and had four strikeouts. She was relieved by Liz Roccaro for two innings who picked up the win.

Game One vs. Ottawa University JV was a close game until the Monarchs opened it up in the sixth inning to win 7-2. Kaylin Brooks and Jenelle Mausbach led the way with hitting, knocking in two RBI’s and scoring a run each. Tara Prindle led the way in the circle, throwing a complete game, allowing two runs, striking out eight, and picking up her first collegiate win.
 
Game Two was again a close contest, until the Monarchs opened it up in the fifth inning, going on to win 7-1. Lexi Hansen hit the first home run of the season with two RBI’s and Jenelle Mausbach, Hillary Protzman, and Samantha Minnick each collected two hits during the game. Liz Roccaro went seven innings, allowing one run, and striking out nine for the win.

In Game One against Highland Community College, the Monarchs fell behind early, trailing 6-1 through the second inning, but fought back before losing 8-5. Kaylin Brooks led the way with hitting, going 2-4 and scoring a run. Liz Roccaro started the game, going 1 ⅓, allowing 4 earned runs. She was relieved by Tara Prindle, who went 5 ⅔ innings, allowing four earned runs, and striking out five batters.
 
In Game Two, the Monarchs fall behind early and lost 9-1.  Bats were led by Kaylin Brooks, who went 1-3 and scored the only run. Tara Prindle started the game, going two innings, and was relieved by Liz Roccaro.

Game One against KCK was a close game until KCK scored three in the fifth inning to break it open for a 5-1 win. Bats were led by Lexi Hanson who went 2-3 with an RBI. Tara Prindle started the game, going 4 ⅓ innings, allowing four earned runs, with five strikeouts. She was relieved by Liz Roccaro, who went 1 ⅔ innings, striking out two batters.
 
Game Two was a close game until the Monarchs scored eight runs in the fifth inning for a 10-1 win. Hillary Protzman led the way hitting, going 2-4 with an inside the park home run and four RBI’s. Liz Roccaro started the game, going four innings and allowing one earned run for the win. She was relieved by Tara Prindle for one inning.

Game One against Labette Community College was a seesaw battle, with Labette coming out on top 6-5. Lexi Kobett led the way hitting, going 3-4, with an RBI a run scored. Tara Prindle started the game, going 3 ⅔ innings, allowing six earned runs and striking out two. Liz Roccaro relieved her, going 2 ⅓ innings, striking out two.
 
In Game Two, Labette shut out the Monarchs 4-0. Leading the way hitting were Hillary Protzman, Lexi Hanson, and Jenelle Mausbach who each with one hit. Alyssa Schulte started the game, going 2 ⅓ innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out two. She was relieved by Liz Roccaro, who pitched 2 ⅔ innings, allowing two runs. Tara Prindle then relieved her in the sixth inning, striking
