The awards just keep piling up for Freshman Samantha Phegley.
Phegley, a setter for the competitive Longview Lakers Volleyball team, was voted 2nd team All-American following an outstanding performance at the NJCAA National Tournament in Ohio.
But before her award-winning season at Longview, Phegley was already a well-recognized athlete at West Plains High School. Here she was not only team captain, but she was also voted MVP and held records in team kills and most team assists in her four years on the varsity team. Phegley also held the titles of All-Region and All-Conference honors along with All-State and All-Conference Academic honors.
As she sets out to play in her sophomore year at Longview, coaches and teammates only expect that list of awards and accomplishment to grow for the talented volleyball superstar.
MCC-Longview Lakers will be hosting an All-Skills Volleyball Camp from June 18-22, 2012, from 10:45 a.m. until noon. All ages are welcome to attend.
Players will be grouped according to age and skill level. The camp's main focus will be to develop all of the skills of each player including serving, passing, setting, spiking, blocking and digging.
Registration and payment deadline is June 1, 2012.
